Christina Jackson, Owner and Principal Painting Conservator of Jackson Art Care LLC, has been in the conservation field for over 15 years and has a master’s degree in art conservation (2009) with a specialty in paintings from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She also holds a bachelor of arts degree in art conservation (2006) from the University of Delaware (Newark, DE). She studied scientific illustration at Arcadia University (Glenside, PA).Jackson performs conservation condition assessments, treatments, and historic painted finishes research for private collectors, museums, galleries, government buildings, school campuses, and auction houses. She examines and performs treatment of easel paintings, murals, and architectural painted finishes from the eighteenth through the twenty-first century executed in oil paint, acrylic, tempera, and mixed media on a variety of supports (e.g. canvas, wood, hardboard, and plaster walls). She has experience working on paintings with subject matter depicted in detailed realism to extreme abstraction. Jackson is also well versed in the replication of trompe l’oeil elements and faux finishes. She specializes in reconstruction of large areas of painted image loss.
Jackson is a Professional Member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and a member of the International Institute for Conservation (IIC). She was formerly on the board of directors for the Washington Conservation Guild and is still an active member of the organization.
