Jackson Art Care LLC provides the following services to museums, art galleries, government buildings, auction houses, and private collectors for their easel paintings, murals, and other painted works of art:
Conservation Condition Assessment
Onsite or in studio condition assessment of paintings
Outgoing/Incoming condition assessment for traveling exhibitions or loans
Providing written and photographic documentation (i.e. condition report, treatment proposal, and cost estimate for treatment)
Collection Condition Survey and Maintenance
Preparing condition survey reports for collections
Assessment of display and/or storage conditions
Making recommendations for preventative conservation
Collection maintenance (i.e periodic condition assessment, surface cleaning, and minor treatment, as needed)
Conservation Treatment
Performing of conservation treatment to address condition concerns
In-situ emergency conservation treatment of unstable paintings to prevent further damage (e.g. paintings with active flaking paint)
Historic Painted Finishes Research
Performing research to determine the original painted finishes obscured by campaigns of repainting
Making original paint layer exposures and taking of paint samples (mounted in cross section) to investigate the paint stratigraphy.
All work is performed according to the American Institute for Conservation Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice.
